Helen Eaton, BA Hons MA
Helen has always drawn and painted and her fixation with depicting horses even earned her the nickname ‘Horsey’, which still sticks! However, despite spending a foundation year studying fine art, she went on to study English Literature at university, where she met her husband.
After raising a family, Helen rediscovered her painting drive when she got a puppy and began to sketch him. Other dog owners requested pictures of their animals which led to her setting up a pet portraiture business, Pawtraits-on-the-Hill. She is currently expanding this to include people portraits and landscapes, while also producing prints of her work.
Helen spends a lot of time in Kerry, south-west Ireland, where her family originates from and her most recent series of paintings, ‘Kerry Beasts’, feature horses and dogs set against the backdrop of its stunning scenery. Although it can be challenging finding time between commissions for such a personal project, she has found this really fulfilling and is now painting a new set of works on a larger scale.
