We are delighted to announce a new SEA workshop for 2024. Set in the heart of rural Northumberland, we invite you to take part in a two day workshop painting heavy horses and racing thoroughbreds. This is a fantastic opportunity to paint two very different horse breeds on consecutive days under the expert tutelage of Malcolm Coward, Honorary SEA.

Whatever your level of painting, this is a great opportunity to compare the challenges of painting horses of different physiques in a safe and encouraging environment.

Hosting Venues:

Hays Farm; Part of the beautiful Ford and Etal estate; home to the largest herd of rare breed Clydesdale Heavy Horses within the North of England. You will have the opportunity to paint several heavy horses and also some farm animals. Location: Hay Farm, Ford & Etal Estate, Crookham, Northumberland, TD12 4TR

Rose Dobbin Racing; A first class racehorse training centre where you will be given the opportunity to paint a number of racehorses in training throughout the day. Location: Rose Dobbin Racing, South Hazelrigg, Chatton, Northumberland NE66 5RZ

The Local Area:

With Lindisfarne and Holy Island less than a 30 minute drive from Rose Dobbin Racing and with Hays Heavy Horse Farm situated on the beautiful Ford and Etal estate, this is the perfect opportunity to combine a visit to this beautiful area with our equestrian painting workshop. The town of Wooler has recently opened Ad Gefrin, a new whisky distillery, and the area is known as the Gateway to the Hills if there are walkers amongst you who fancy taking on Cheviot!
