Ann Squire A.S.E.A

Biography

Ann was brought up in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside with its hills, rivers and abundant wildlife. Her passion for drawing started when she was very young and animals were always her favourite subjects.

From an early age Ann has loved horses and has been involved with them for most of her life. From looking after a blue cross pony at the age of 4yrs with her brother and sister to helping her daughter with pony club, competing in dressage events and just loving riding her horse ‘Red’ in the New Forest.

“In recent years I have had to hang up my riding boots due to injury, but drawing the beautiful creatures that have given me so much pleasure is the next best thing”.

Ann Exhibits with several national art Societies including, NEWA. MIWAS and The Society of Equestrian Artists. She has won several awards for her work, the latest being Amateur Wildlife Artist Of The Year 2009 awarded by the editor of Wildscape magazine. Also this year she was a finalist in the BBC, W.A.Y and thrilled when her painting of an Iguana was also selected as a finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the year.
