Vicky Young has drawn and painted horses birds and other animals since childhood
She spent four years at art school and graduated with a Diploma in Art and Design ( Fine Art ) photography was her subsidiary subject. A further year at Goldsmiths College London attained a post graduate Art Teachers Certificate
Vicky now lives in Surrey on a small farm with her animals. She has shown horses in hand and competed all over the south of England with her driving ponies a Hackney Stallion and Welsh Mountain Pony Stallion in Private Driving Classes. Both are elderly and retired and have become the subject of quite a few paintings. Apart from horses her second love is cats, from domestic tabby to tigers. Wildlife especially birds feature in her work
Vicky’s preferred medium is a mixture of watercolour and pencil. Although she also works in pastel and pencil alone
She exhibits her work in London and elsewhere and is available to undertake commissions
