SEA AGM WEEKEND \u2013 NEWMARKET – 18-19 APRIL 2015<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s AGM at the British Racing School was hailed a great success by those attending, so we are delighted to be returning to this excellent location again this year. There is so much equestrian activity to see around the area so it is well worth making a full weekend of it. Join in some, or all, of the events, it\u2019s up to you, please note other than food or entry to the main exhibition area of the museum, there is NO CHARGE for any of the events during the weekend.<\/p>\n

SATURDAY 17TH APRIL<\/p>\n
8.00am – Sketching class on Warren Hill, led by James Power SEA.
\nMeet at the Heath Court Hotel, Moulton Road, Newmarket, CB8 8DY
\nA really good opportunity to see horses working on the Heath; for early risers, horses are allowed on the gallops from 6.00am.<\/p>\n
If you can\u2019t make an 8.00am start, horses will be on the Heath all morning until 1pm. If you arrive later, there are free car parks on the side of the gallops when you can stand (or park in one of the many car parks in town and walk up to Warren Hill). Please note, there is no public access to the Heath until after 1pm.<\/p>\n
LUNCH: either bring a packed lunch or call in at the National Horseracing Museum Cafe on the High Street.
\nAllow yourselves 10 minutes to drive to Glebe Stud, or if you prefer, stay at the museum and see the exhibits, including the Sporting Art of the Dukes of Grafton exhibition upstairs in the Vestey Gallery.<\/p>\n
1.30pm \u2013 3.30pm Sketching mares and foals at Glebe Stud, Cheveley, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 9DG
\nGlebe Stud is owned by Jockey Club member and Huntingdon racecourse steward, Mrs Julia Scott. The stud takes permanent boarders and \u2018walk-in\u2019 mares and also prepares Thoroughbreds of all ages for sale. There should be around 10+ mares and their foals in the paddocks to sketch.<\/p>\n
4.00 \u2013 5.00pm Talk – A History of Newmarket and its influence on Sporting Art
\nPalace House Mews, Newmarket, CB8 8EP
\nAn informative talk and digital slideshow exploring the history of Newmarket and how it aided the development of Sporting Art, concluding with a virtual tour of the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art due to open in 2016.<\/p>\n
7.30pm – Evening Supper get together at The Walnut Tree, Worlington, Mildenhall, IP28 8RU
\nA chance to catch up with old friends and hopefully make some new ones over supper. Great food. The Walnut Tree also have new B&B accommodation available please see the B&B list for details.

\nA horse and groom will be available to work from and there will be informal assistance from Full Members present if required. (We will be undercover in one of the schools if the weather is inclement.) Short Coffee Break at 10.50am.
