Barry was born in the New Forest. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Society of Equestrian Artists and a Full Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. His work consists of landscape, marine, equine and occasional wild life. He preferred always to work out of doors, directly from the subject, often adding the final touches in the studio.<\/p>\n
Exhibitions<\/strong> Barry exhibited at<\/p>\n The Royal Academy Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n Barry won many prizes for his work, including the following:-<\/p>\n The Cuneo Medal for the Best Collection of Paintings at the SEA Barry lived all his life in the New Forest finding his equine subjects of the ponies that roam the heaths, woodlands and shoreline a lifelong inspiration.<\/p>\n Barry sadly passed away in 2024 on the eve of our Horse in Art exhibition at Weston Park. He will be sorely missed by many<\/p>\n
