She is inspired by a lifetime spent in the saddle at a local and International level enabling her to capture the spirit and soul of each animal and offer an almost \u2018real life\u2019 interaction for the viewer.<\/p>\n<p>Raffaello Romanelli has placed Carmichael in the top 1% of students he\u2019s taught, and she has been labelled as \u2018one to watch\u2019 by art world experts. Carmichael has become the first ever Sculptor-in-Residence to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and she has gained a loyal following and waitlist for commissions, namely Kitty\u2019s Light the record breaking racehorse and Ajax, the shire horse and mascot to the Worshipful Company of Coopers.\u00a0 Carmichael\u2019s work won the prize for Best Sculpture at the \u2018Horses in Art Exhibition 2023&#8242; at Tennant Auctioneers, Yorkshire. <span class=\"x_gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Carmichael\u2019s sculptures are created from working from life and from her studio in Gloucestershire. All sculptures are cast at Morris Singer Foundry, Basingstoke, using the lost wax method of casting.<span class=\"x_gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an honour to cast important\u00a0horses and figures for clients seeking a timeless commemoration, and to contribute to our collective public memory.
