He currently lives in the historic minster town of Howden, England with his wife Joan, Oscar the dog and Watson the horse.
Dave has a wide range of expertise which encompasses the following subjects and mediums: Portraits, Animals, Landscapes, Seascapes, Floral, and Still Life, using Oil, Pastel, Graphite, Water Colours, Acrylic and Silverpoint.
Dave has been asked to undertake varied and numerous art commissions including; murals, private portraits, animal portraits, magazine and book covers.
Dave’s artwork features in many art collections across the globe, including; the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and the Middle East.
Dave’s comment on his Art Philosophy.
My art work is primarily in the Traditional Realist style, although I also create work which combines my own take on a contemporary style, but with some realist highlights. I like to work with a variety of different mediums and have taught the relevant techniques to a host of students over the years.
‘Because I’m a Traditional Realist artist, I strive to portray my subjects with great accuracy and detail. I love the challenge of realism in a work of art because, one has to develop a certain mastery of the “Old Master’s” techniques in order to achieve the high level of accuracy required, without the painting looking too “tight” and therefore becoming unreal, which would be the opposite of what I want to achieve.’

Dave’s Website

["post-16626","friends","type-friends","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
