James Power HSEA

Biography

James Power was born in 1946, and comes from a family with horses in their blood since the turn of the century. He now lives and works at the heart of the British Horse Racing community in Newmarket.

James is an accomplished professional painter, working in oils, watercolours and pastels, and covers a range of subject matters. He is an active member of the Society of Equestrian Artists. Promoted to Associate Member in 2000, and to Full Member in 2001, James is on the Society’s Executive Committee. He has been a major prize winner, and in 1998 one of his works was adjudged ‘Best Racing Picture’ for ‘Horse and Hound’ magazine.
