Tamsin Dearing

Biography

Tamsin Dearing is a self-taught, professional Cornish artist. She specialises in fine art pencil and pastel portraiture.

With a passion for the natural world and the details that make each of us who we are, she strives to capture this in her art. By focussing on the details, she hopes to encourage the viewer to pause and take the time to really look, and to really see the individual beauty in her subjects.

Tamsin works from her home studio on the South coast of Cornwall, and is surrounded by nature and striking landscapes. As a child many of her days were spent playing in a lane near her home, and visiting the horses on the farms. These giant, gentle creatures were her companions and teachers, inspiring a deep love that will last a lifetime.

Now as a professional artist, she supports the work of The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary through her art. 10% of profits from her commissioned portraits are donated to Flicka to support their vital work with donkeys and horses who desperately need their loving care. Tamsin chose this charity in honour of her beloved Gran, Dora, who had a passion for donkeys and passed this compassion down through the generations.

Tamsin’s fine art portraits hang in private collections internationally. She has been selected to exhibit in prestigious shows with The Pastel Society, the Society of Women Artists, ING Discerning, Bath Society of Artists and The South West Academy of Fine Arts.
