Deborah is an international award-winning contemporary stone sculptor who, through a chance encounter, discovered stone carving. She is largely self-taught other than a year’s diploma in stone masonry. The technique she uses is called Carving Direct which follows the grain, colour and form of the stone. She carves until she reaches a kind of skin, and the sculpture takes on a life of its own. One of the reoccurring themes is horses.
Deborah is based in Gloucester where she teaches carving and welcomes commissions. If you are interested in contacting Deborah do so by her website www.debsharrison-sculptor.co.uk or email her on firstname.lastname@example.org
