Anne Ward is a Newmarket-based artist, who specialises in portraits of horses and dogs, largely in the medium of pastel. She has a lifelong passion for racing in particular, and has painted horses from an early age.

Her clients include racehorse owners, trainers, jockeys, breeders and bloodstock agents, including the British Bloodstock Agency, for whom she painted a portrait of ‘Lammtarra’ – a former Derby winner and European Racehorse of the Year.

Anne works mainly by commission, but is also regularly involved in charity events. In July 2013 Anne was asked to contribute a commission to Banstead Manor’s stallion show fundraiser, under the watchful eye of Frankel. Anne also exhibited work for the 3rd year in succession at the Royal Norfolk Show, 26-27 June 2013.

Anne is also trained in web and graphic design, and has run Newmarket-based design company Blue Violet (www.blueviolet.co.uk) since 2004. Her clients in this field range from local sole traders through to larger companies, including within the bloodstock world, BBA Shipping and Boyce Bloodstock.
