Donna May Robertson

A horse can fill the eye with beauty and as a child I fell in love with them and rode every week in the lanes of Cornwall with friends. I was always drawing, painting and reading about horses. Life changed and returning to birth roots in Scotland I completed an Education degree in Edinburgh, taught and brought up four children on the stock and arable farm, but always found a little time for art. Life changed again and I studied at Edinburgh College of Art formalising life drawing and sculpting skills alongside Interior Architecture. Now in Somerset , children all grown, horses and art have come together again for me through the challege of anatomy and sculpting, always inspired by the figure ,animals, in particular the horse and the creative talents of others that encourages mutual respect within the challenges of reproducing that beauty that fills the eye.
