Alasdair Banks ASEA

Biography

A 2(1) degree in Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art was followed

by a number of Arts Amin. posts during which I continued to show my Pictures, Sculptures,

and Ceramics at a variety of galleries and events.

I have been a full time Artist since 2002. Most of my work is about expressing the combined movement

of Horse and Rider, not trying to depict them realistically. Residencies at Olympia, Royal Windsor,

Glorious Goodwood, The Cheltenham Gold Cup and Edinburgh Festival (usually in the public gaze)

have helped me develop my unique style. I continue to do large Painting Demonstrations at events

like the International Horse Trials at Blair Castle.

My Sport and Cityscape pictures feature the same dynamic expression.

“…his Paintings of Racing especially have a real explosion of line.”
