Nicholas Sulman MA
A prolific painter from childhood, Nicholas won a scholarship to study painting in France at the age of 16. He subsequently studied fine art at St. Martin’s School of Art, London and film direction at The National Film & Television School.
Nicholas produces innovative and original work informed by both historical and contemporary art. Working under both his mother’s and father’s names, Nicholas has shown his work in film, photography and visual art internationally and has had three major public art gallery exhibitions in the UK. He has received numerous Arts Council England Visual Art Awards and his work is represented in international public and private collections.
Since 2010 Nicholas has applied his dedication to the disciplines of drawing and painting to equestrian art. Nicholas aims to represent the beauty of horses and the dynamic movement and interaction of horses and riders. This work is now widely represented in the collections of international riders and owners.
Nicholas offers commissions in oils, watercolour and drawing. For equestrian work he can draw and photograph the subject directly but he can also work from good provided photography.
