Having gained my Higher Diploma at Portsmouth College of Art, I have been working as a professional painter for over 25 years, and specialising as an equine artist for over 12 years. My horse portrait commissions come from throughout the UK and abroad.
I live & work within the Southdowns National Park, in West Sussex, UK. Surrounded by fine horse riding country, it proves to be a continuous source of inspiration for my work as an equestrian artist, and I’ve developed a deep love of capturing the majesty, beauty and character of the horse in my paintings.
Working primarily in acrylics on canvas or board, my style is detailed and closely observed, with much attention given to carefully portraying the individual horses’ characteristics, conformation and coat.
I never cease to be thrilled with the wonderful compliments I get back from clients when they see their much-loved horse in the completed painting – job satisfaction par excellence!
If you’re interested in having a chat about commissioning a portrait of your own horse, or perhaps as a present, then please do get in touch.
My website has lots more horse portrait examples in the gallery, and I provide a step-by-step guide on commissioning a painting.
